Just imagine how many have been beaten and illegally detained before cameras. I think cameras are a must. It keeps everyone honest . It must be done respectfully. I think it encourages good behavior on All sides. If the public were not abused regularly, this wouldn’t be necessary. Sadly not all cops are good and we need protection from them.
It is evident that our justice system is broken. Having the right to film police is a must as it allows police, and others in positions of power, to be held accountable.
Of course. Police being watched by the public makes them more aware of their conduct. It doesn't hinder their duties, as long as it is at a safe distance.
