Yes we do, us Puerto ricans have been treated poorly by the US government since 1898, granted they gave us citizenship and rep in congress and Senate yet still some of public still doesn't know that we are citizens or where Puerto Rico is. Plus on the island can't for in the presidential election only in the primary. Example as for me back when I came to the US the school district ask my parents for our green card my mom replied we are Puerto ricans but they replied "that's nice but we still need to see you green card" just think this was in 1984. as a Puerto Rican I hardly knew my identity growing up my family never spoke about Puerto Rico history. To this day I'm finding more and more about Puerto Rico history as well as African history. Lots of African people contributed to Puerto Ricos history and I'm proud tobknow like most Puerto ricans myself included have African blood in our ancestry. I would love to their story etc. As to pertaining hidden colors DVD series it really woke up me latinos and blacks needs to rise to rise like the black Panthers and Young Lords did in the past and help each other from help feed our people Young and old education, food etc to know we have more in common than we think.

In my view though no wrong way to approach this just saying my opinion on this. 1. We need to understand that are a decent of Africa wether we look like it or not and be proud of it. 2. Together we can form a strong bond no can break. 3. We can no longer tolerate being second class citizens 4. Help each other teach n educate our youth our true history and culture 5. Help each other by feeding our families food and other needs and build an center to do that

@Dawn Magana what makes me sad yet mad I have lived in the states since 1984( I was 5) I had to study about my own country through books like this and the documentary Rosie Perez done due my family were Puerto ricans but never taught me my brother and cousins about what the US has done. I thank the DVD series Hidden colors for waking me up. I'm proud being proud Puerto Rican but love my Taino and African side. I'm proud Africans made alot of Puerto Ricans culture. Music and shaped our the way we eat and created 2 dances.
