@Taryn Marshall I 100% agree. By not protecting people‘s right to record the police, you’re making it so much hard for citizens to protect themselves against the police.

This doesn’t make any sense. In my opinion it’s not my job to help you since you‘re the one with all of the protection and equipment, which leaves me defenseless. I don’t think they understand, people film the cops because there’s little people can do when cops are involved. But what we can do is record to make sure everyone knows about the misconduct that’s taking place. If they are doing their jobs they shouldn’t care if people record. When you start saying to people “stop recording“ it makes you look guilty. If you’re doing your job, then keep doing your job, don’t let the cameras affect you.

It’s ridiculous how this isn’t a law everywhere and the fact that it’s just now happening. When it comes to police the citizens‘ rights are put on the back burner, for the sake of “police safety”. It’s the irony for me

I never understood solitary confinement cause it doesn’t actually help those in jail. The jail and prison systems rely on isolation as a solution then expect for them to be “better people” when they get out.

Another example of abuse of power. No explanation of why he was pulled over, and no mindfulness of Nazario’s safety. Ironically when it comes to police encounters the citizens‘ safety is last on the list, even when it comes to those in the military.
