There are 12 states where wiretap laws prohibit citizens from secretly recording police (this applies to audio only): California Connecticut Florida Illinois Maryland Massachusetts Michigan Montana Nevada New Hampshire Pennsylvania Washington. In the United States, it is generally legal to film a police officer in a public place while on duty. The legality of filming a police officer is protected by the First Amendment, which guarantees the right to freedom of speech and the press. However, there may be some restrictions on filming in certain situations, such as if the filming interferes with the officer’s ability to do their job or violates someone’s privacy.

Donate: https://www.gofundme.com/f/justice4jamaull/donate We are posting the text here for others to see: My brother Jamaull Jones was shot in the face by APD (Atlanta Police Department) on August 9th, 2022, after responding to a 911 call from an individual that my brother was being paid to move their furniture for them. After my brother and the person with him to help with the move showed up to the address, the caller refused to let them do the job. The family was told that something transpired between the caller and Jamaull that resulted in the 911 call. The facts are still unclear in that matter. Fast forward 32 days later, and the family is being told that Jamaull is on “end-of-life” status. The bullet entered my brother right cheek and lodged into the back of his neck. He is currently on life support in ICU at Grady Memorial Hospital at the moment. Tomorrow the family has decided to remove him from life support and allow him to transition peacefully. We ask for any assistance with the cremation process. We are in dire need of financial assistance right now.

Attorneys, paralegal and law students are entitled to special protections when they visit an incarcerated client. The rights of attorneys, paralegals and law students to enter prison without harassment was litigated in a Suffolk Superior Court case called Greenblatt v. Fair– a copy of that decision is attached. Two sections of the Department of Correction regulations also govern visitation in prisons. Visits by legal professionals are covered in 103 CMR 486.00 et seq. Visitation in general is covered by 103 CMR 483.00 et seq., some of which applies to legal visits.
