While this would seem like a "mistake", it's the product of the way the system is set up. The system consistently costs people their lives, and their freedom and wastes taxpayers' money.

Thanks for sharing, in my opinion all citizens should be in the habit of documenting the public work of police in public places. the power of filming the police, is evidenced in attempts around the country to try and pass restrictive laws.

I want to say this is shocking, however it is not. Because the fact is the system was not designed to protect me and you. It very intentionally favors police over its citizens, because they view themselves as enforcers and not servants. Which is not surprising given the roots of policing in slave patrols. We must accept that under he current system there can be no police accountability, and use that as a starting point on finding a solution.

Grateful for : 1) People in our community at Reyets, on our team, family and friends 2) Partners: Organizations and communities that have supported us, and continue to work with us 3) Progress: While some change is painfully slow, progress is still being made, and I am great full for that.

More companies need to speak up, and consuners should use their dollars to support companies aligned with their beliefs! Here is a link to Lyfts official position.

Are there organizations that are advocating for the voting rights of people with Accessibility needs? We should reach out and support a few, create some awareness?

I know this bar in DC, usually a good scene, and it’s to bad this bouncer decided to assault this young lady. Brings up an interesting question, “What are your rights vs the operators rights at a venue“? We should research and add it in the database!

Wondering if this is a direct results if the court appointments during the previous four years? or is this part of a more polarized society?

I wonder if there any marches or events around this in DC. We should try and create more awareness on Bill 7, I’m sure people would be shocked at what the bill is actually proposing.

We need to do a better job mobilizing people to engage in local elections. While federal election turn out is regularly over 70% you can see local elections are much lower:

@Matt Douglas you should check out https://www.historyx.app based in DC you might be able to collaborate on creating some engaging tours in the city.

@Ibrahem Alhaidari in the podcast they state that its a lack of training (officers not trained for mental health response) and lack of funding (to hire more therapists and mental health professionals). Meanwhile the are spending $437 per capita on policing, while spending for all menta health resources for the state are around $110 per capita.
