Around 4pm EST this afternoon, Derek Chauvin was sentenced to 22.5 years for the murder of George Floyd, gaining credit for the 199 days he has already served.
It was a lower sentence than most of us believe he deserved, particularly African Americans, but it was also higher than many of us expected it to be as well. You’re right Angel; whenever he does re-enter society, there is practically nowhere where he will be able to live peacefully in this country. He will forever dodge the media and the Africa American community. He will have to leave elsewhere, to some country which will accept him. Whichever way, it is clear that it isn’t easy to commit murder due to racial prejudice, and resume your normal life afterwards.
I'll be surprised if he does even half of it. But, one of my friends mentioned how he's a cop going to prison for the senseless murder of a black man. Karma will probably get him sooner or later.

He probably won’t even do the full time…
