YORKVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — State and county officials, organizers and activists gathered last Friday afternoon at the Yorkville Cemetery to celebrate an unsung hero of the women’s suffrage movement, Representative Banks Turner from Gibson County, and to dedicate a historical marker to him that organizers say was “long overdue.”
