The Supreme Court on Thursday said that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment when it froze the contract of a Catholic foster care agency that refused to work with same-sex couples as potential foster parents because the agency believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman.

If an athiest person passed out from thirst in front of a Catholic Church, would the church simply leave them there and shut their doors? Of course they wouldn't (unless they weren't as Godly as they claimed). They would let them in and give them water. The person's difference in religious ideology compared to the church would not impeade the Catholics from assisting them. Nor should a difference in gender values be grounds for a denial of assistance to children in a Catholic foster home.
As a queer person adopted by a queer couple, my life would not have been nearly what it was if I didn't get that opportunity. This makes me want to cry, its sad to see that people are so "pro life" until they get to decide which lives.
also, this reminds me of the case a few years back where the supreme court ruled in favor of a christian baker for refusing to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple. both times the logic was that it’s freedom of religion😕
so they’d rather have children stay in the traumatic foster care system without a family than let those children be adopted by a loving gay couple .... i will never understand the logic of these so-called christians.
I’m in shock that the Supreme Court ruled in their favor, says a lot especially during Pride Month. #loveislove
