LIBERATION FUND: Justice for Marvin Guy

As we know, the purpose of no-knock search warrents are to allow officers to enter and search properties without identifying themselves beforehand, to keep the owner from destroying evidence or endangering the officers' lives. However, the aggressive and unconventional way the warrent was carried out shows that police practice needs respect the boundaries of a citizens' home, especially if there is no probable cause for believing officers' lives will be endangered.

The Liberation Fund is an organization designed to address misconduct in law enforcement agencies that disproportionately affect people of color.

No Knock Raids have no business being included as a policing tactic in our communities. Marvin's case highlights why this policy needs to be outlawed across the country. No citizen should be facing the death penalty for defending their home from intruders.
