Prohibits federal, state, and local law enforcement from racial, religious and discriminatory profiling. Mandates training on racial, religious, and discriminatory profiling for all law enforcement. Requires law enforcement to collect data on all investigatory activities.
The bill was passed in the House in March, and after several months of Democrats trying to negotiate with Republicans in the Senate, the bill has been stalled. Today, the family of George Floyd is pleading with the Biden Administration to do whatever they can to get this bill passed.
Less than 12 months ago, Americans rallied together to denounce police brutality. Although Derek Chauvin was convicted and sentenced (accountability) this bill was put in place to prevent such tragic situations from ever happening again.
