Here in India police can hold anybody in remand for 48 hours without telling a reason on pretext of its need for certain investigation, although the law enforcement officials are supposed to report their superiors that why and whom they are holding in remand. We being responsible citizens should co-operate with them in every possible way.

Although there are many instances being reported where this privilege is being misused by certain bureaucrats and officials.
